Pratyusha Banerjee — Biography
The television actress Pratyusha Banerjee met a tragic end on April 1, 2016. She was discovered having died by hanging in her Mumbai residence, a mere 24 years of age. The official medical examination concluded that her death was caused by asphyxia. Banerjee was widely recognized for her role as Anandi in the popular television series Balika Vadhu.
Following her passing, Banerjee's parents put forth allegations that her boyfriend, identified as actor-producer Rahul Raj Singh, was responsible for her death, claiming it was a murder disguised as suicide. They subsequently initiated legal proceedings against him. Years later, in 2018, Rahul Raj Singh submitted a request to the Dindoshi sessions court in Mumbai, seeking to be absolved of the charges. In his plea, Singh shifted responsibility to Banerjee's parents, asserting that they had incurred substantial debts in her name. He contended that her inability to manage these financial burdens was the catalyst for her apparent suicide.
