Sarah Shahi — Biography
With a background encompassing both Iranian and Spanish heritage, Sarah Shahi has built a successful career as a television actress following her former work as an NFL cheerleader. By August 2025, her social media presence had grown to approximately 1.6 million followers on Instagram. Throughout her acting career, she has taken on a diverse array of roles across multiple television programs. In 2008, she portrayed Carmen in The L Word, and three years later, she took on the role of Kate Reed in the USA Network series Fairly Legal, which ran through 2012. Her performance as Sameen Shaw became a notable part of the CBS crime series Person of Interest, where she joined Amy Acker after Taraji P. Henson's departure from the cast. Earlier in her career, she held the leading female role of Det. Dani Reese in Life and appeared in a supporting capacity in the spy thriller Alias. The year 2018 marked two significant television appearances: first as a lead in the series Reverie, and subsequently in a recurring capacity on The Rookie, where she played Jessica Russo, a former FBI hostage rescue specialist working in private security who becomes romantically involved with John Nolan's character. Following these roles, she made guest appearances on the Showtime series City on a Hill in 2019.
