Über Sela Ward
Sela Ward, born on July 11, 1966, is a renowned American actress, producer, and author known for her work in television and film. Hailing from Meridian, Mississippi, Sela pursued her education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she distinguished herself as a cheerleader, homecoming queen, and a double-major in art and advertising. After relocating to New York City, she began her career as a storyboard artist while also exploring modeling, confident in her appeal.
Sela's acting debut came in the film "The Man Who Loved Women," where she starred alongside Burt Reynolds, Kim Basinger, and Marilu Henner. She is widely recognized for her roles in the television series "Sisters" and "Once and Again," for which she received two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. Additionally, she portrayed the ill-fated wife of Harrison Ford in the 1993 hit "The Fugitive."
At the age of 39, considered still strikingly attractive, Sela auditioned for a part in the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies." Despite being only three years younger than her prospective co-star Pierce Brosnan, she was deemed too old for the role. In response to this ageism, she created and produced a documentary titled "The Changing Face of Beauty," examining American society's fixation on youth and its impact on women. By January 2026, Sela had garnered a following of 120,000 on Instagram.
