Über Shelley Hack

Born on July 6, 1947, Shelley Marie Hack embarked on a multifaceted career that spanned modeling, acting, production, and political and media advisement. She first rose to widespread recognition as the iconic face of Revlon's Charlie perfume, a role she embodied from the mid-1970s through the early 1980s. Her television presence expanded when she joined the cast of the ABC drama Charlie's Angels in its fourth season, portraying Tiffany Welles from 1979 to 1980 and stepping into the shoes of Kate Jackson. Hack participated in 26 episodes before being succeeded by Tanya Roberts in the subsequent season.

Hack's early life saw her born in Greenwich, Connecticut, where she attended Greenwich Academy. Her academic pursuits continued at Smith College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History, followed by a Master of Business Administration from NYIT. Her professional journey commenced as a teenage fashion model, a path that eventually led her to become the enduring symbol of Charlie perfume for Revlon. Life magazine once highlighted her as one of the "million-dollar faces," individuals who commanded exceptionally lucrative and exclusive agreements with major cosmetics firms, achieving instant recognition and widespread public awareness of their names. She was counted among a select group of prominent supermodels of the 1970s.

Her cinematic debut was a brief appearance as a "Street Stranger" in Woody Allen's acclaimed 1977 film Annie Hall. Her subsequent film venture, the leading role in Joe Brooks' romance drama If Ever I See You Again, did not achieve commercial success. Soon after, she secured the role of Tiffany Welles in Charlie's Angels, replacing Kate Jackson for one season, a part for which she remains most recognized. This significant television opportunity came after she outshone numerous other hopefuls, including Michelle Pfeiffer and Barbara Bach. Following her tenure on Charlie's Angels, Hack took on various supporting roles. She garnered favorable reviews for her portrayal of a passive-aggressive executive in Martin Scorsese's 1983 film The King of Comedy. In 1981, she starred alongside Annette O'Toole and Meredith Baxter Birney in Vanities, a well-received television adaptation of a stage play chronicling the lives and friendships of three Texas cheerleaders, which aired on HBO. Hack also had a notable leading role in the cult horror film The Stepfather and was a regular cast member on two short-lived television series in the 1980s: Cutter to Houston (1983) and Jack and Mike (1986–87). She continued to make guest appearances in film and television until 1997.

After retiring from acting in the late 1990s, Hack transitioned into the field of politics. In the 1997 elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina, she served as
