Shelly Martinez — Biography

Shelly Martinez, an American figure with a diverse career, has made her mark as a model, actress, and formerly as a professional wrestler and valet. Her tenure in professional wrestling commenced in December of 2000, initially gracing the independent wrestling scene across Southern California under the moniker Desire. She competed for various organizations, including Revolution Pro Wrestling, Ultimate Pro Wrestling, and the Empire Wrestling Federation.

Her career took a significant turn in April 2005 when she inked a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She was initially placed in their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), before transitioning to the ECW brand in mid-2006. There, as Ariel, she adopted a tarot reader persona and managed Kevin Thorn. Following her release from WWE in 2007, Martinez found a new home with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). As Salinas, she became associated with The Latin American Xchange (LAX), managing both Homicide and Hernandez. Her time with TNA concluded in September 2008. She continued to make appearances for several independent promotions until her retirement from wrestling in 2017.

Beyond the wrestling ring, Martinez has also pursued opportunities in acting and modeling. She participated in the reality television competition, The Search for the Next Elvira, and has featured in various films. Her filmography includes the softcore adult film The Notorious Jewel De'Nyle & Shelly Martinez, in which she co-starred with Jewel De'Nyle, and the pin-up film American Pinups Vol. 2. Martinez has also posed nude on multiple occasions, including for a contest titled "THE 1 Contest" in October 2009. In November 2012, she was a participant on Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too, a spin-off of the reality show Bad Girls Club. Her acting credits also include the independent supernatural horror film Dead Things. Furthermore, Martinez was featured in the beginning of Mötley Crüe's music video for "Saints of Los Angeles," and in May 2011, she filmed a music video for the Smashing Pumpkins song "Owata" alongside Raven and Cheerleader Melissa. By late 2011, Martinez took on the role of the official Hollywood event correspondent and hostess for the horror news website MoreHorror.com. She also made an appearance as herself in a segment of the show 1000 Ways to Die, titled "Slippery When Dead."
