Sol Ruca — Biography
Calyx Harmony Hampton is a professional wrestler from the United States. As of March 2024, she is associated with WWE, performing on the NXT brand under the ring name Sol Ruca. In March 2022, Ruca was included in a new cohort of recruits at the WWE Performance Center, arriving with no prior experience in professional wrestling, having a background in acrobatics and tumbling instead. She made her in-ring debut during a house show on June 24 in Jacksonville and soon after appeared on television for the first time on the September 27, 2022 episode of NXT 2.0, where she competed against Amari Miller and secured a win. On December 10, 2022, Ruca captured public attention for her creative finishing maneuver, a Springboard Backflip Cutter, which she executed in another match against Miller on WWE NXT Level Up. Ruca has acknowledged her acrobatic gymnastics background as the foundation for this unique move. In April, reports indicated that she suffered a ruptured ACL, necessitating surgery and a lengthy recovery period. She made her comeback to WWE NXT on February 9, 2024, during an NXT House Show in Crystal River, Florida. Hampton is of mixed African and Caucasian heritage.
