Über Tana Mongeau
Tana Marie Mongeau is a multifaceted American social media star, musician, podcaster, and YouTuber. She hosts the podcast Cancelled alongside Brooke Schofield. Mongeau is particularly well-known for her "storytime" videos, with one of her most popular being titled "The N Word," which she uploaded on January 24, 2017, and has garnered over 7 million views. On February 10, 2017, she took to Snapchat to reveal that she was under FBI investigation after someone hacked her emails and made a bombing and shooting threat to McCarran International Airport.
In November 2017, Mongeau made her music debut with the single "Hefner," which featured a music video cameo by Bella Thorne. She also collaborated with Lil Phag and Dr. Woke for the track "Deadahh," released on December 15, 2017. Her second solo single, "W," followed on March 1, 2018, and was succeeded by her third single, "Fuck Up," on August 31, 2018.
On May 26, 2018, Mongeau announced the hosting of her own convention, TanaCon, which took place from June 22-23 in Anaheim, California, at the Anaheim Marriott Suites. The event was widely criticized, with attendees expressing grievances about insufficient food and water, as well as enduring long waits in the sun. Reports indicated that many developed sunburns, and some passed out due to heat exposure. The Verge noted that comparisons were drawn to the infamous Fyre Festival, with patrons chanting "refund" after the experience. Mongeau later extended an apology and promised that refunds would be issued.
On April 29, 2019, it was revealed that she would feature in an MTV reality series titled MTV No Filter: Tana Turns 21, which debuted in the summer of that year. On January 26, 2022, she introduced her own wine brand named Dizzy Wine. Mongeau is of French heritage and identifies as openly bisexual, having dated personalities like Bella Thorne, Mod Sun, Lil Xan, and Chris Miles. In April 2019, she began a relationship with YouTuber and professional boxer Jake Paul, and the two got engaged two months later. They exchanged vows in Las Vegas on July 28, 2019, although InTouch later highlighted that they had not secured a marriage license before the ceremony, and their officiant was not legally recognized in Nevada; thus, the marriage lacked legal validity. BuzzFeed noted that the couple departed the event separately. This pay-per-view ceremony, priced at $50, was captured for MTV No Filter: Tana Turns 21. In a subsequent episode, Mongeau described the event as something "fun and lighthearted that we're obviously doing for fun and for content." The couple announced their split in January 2020
