Tenille Dashwood — Biography

Tenille Dashwood is widely recognized for her impactful tenure in WWE under the ring name Emma, and also for her contributions to Impact Wrestling where she competed as herself. Her journey into professional wrestling began in her native Australia in 2003, at the young age of thirteen. Four years later, in 2008, Dashwood traveled to Canada to hone her skills at the Storm Wrestling Academy. Prior to her major league success, she competed on the independent circuit in Australia and North America, appearing for promotions such as Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling and Shimmer Women Athletes, often under the moniker Tenille Tayla.

Her career took a significant step forward in 2011 when she signed with WWE, making history as the first Australian woman to do so. Dashwood's career also saw her compete in Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, where she achieved a notable accomplishment by becoming a former Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Champion. On October 28, 2022, she made a surprise return to WWE on SmackDown as a fan favorite after nearly five years, resuming the ring name Emma. She answered Ronda Rousey's open challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship, but was unsuccessful in her bid to win the title.

The year 2023 marked another Royal Rumble appearance for Emma, announced on the January 21 edition of SmackDown LowDown. Entering the match at number four, she shared a brief reunion with former tag team partner Dana Brooke before being eliminated by Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL following Brooke's own elimination. Later, on the March 17 SmackDown, Emma partnered with Tegan Nox in an attempt to secure a spot in the Women's WrestleMania Showcase match at WrestleMania 39, but they fell short. As a result of the 2023 WWE Draft, Emma was assigned to the Raw brand. She made her first appearance on Raw in over five years on July 3, teaming with Nikki Cross in a losing effort. On September 21, 2023, WWE announced Emma's release, which included other performers such as her real-life partner Riddick Moss. In December 2023, Dashwood indicated via an Instagram post that she was uncertain about a return to in-ring competition.

In her personal life, Dashwood experienced an arrest in Hartford, Connecticut, on June 30, 2014. While she arrived backstage for the live episode of Raw that evening, she did not compete.
