Victoria Tran — Biography

Under the moniker Viva Van, American professional wrestler Victoria Tran is currently aligned with All Elite Wrestling. Her career has seen her make significant appearances on the independent circuit, participating in events for prominent organizations like Ring of Honor, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, Impact Wrestling, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. She has also represented Vietnam in the CMLL International Gran Prix and competed on NJPW Strong.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Van hails from a Vietnamese-American background. Her childhood passions included a deep appreciation for professional wrestling and horror films, with The Undertaker being a particular childhood wrestling idol. While she initially pursued a degree in accounting, Van has shared that she found the field unfulfilling and lacked aptitude for it, admitting to a long-held secret aspiration to become a professional wrestler. Ultimately, she decided to complete her studies, shifting her major from accounting to marketing, before dedicating herself to wrestling training. Van earned her marketing degree from California State University, Fullerton, in 2020. Additionally, she explored the performing arts, including vocal training, moving from an interest in R&B and jazz to a passion for metal music, which led to her joining a death metal band as a vocalist.

Rikishi, a WWE Hall of Famer and member of the Anoaʻi family, served as Van's wrestling trainer. In an interview with Cultaholic, she recounted how a car accident unexpectedly paved the way for her wrestling training and her work with promotions such as Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Van entered the professional wrestling arena in 2018. Since her debut, she has performed for a variety of independent promotions across the American West Coast, including PCW Ultra, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, Hoodslam, and DEFY Wrestling. Her national exposure includes appearances with Impact Wrestling, All Elite Wrestling, and Ring of Honor. Internationally, she has competed in Mexico for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, participating in a match for the vacant CMLL World Women's Championship, and in Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Van participated in tryouts for WWE in both 2020 and 2022 but was not signed. On January 1, 2025, she announced her signing with All Elite Wrestling. On May 3, 2025, Van captured the Vietnam Pro Wrestling Women's Championship by defeating Yuki Kamifuku of Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling.

Beyond the wrestling ring, Van is the lead singer for the Southern California heavy metal group Mocking of the Trinity, known for their appearance on the Last.fm show Maidens of Metal. Under the name Victorya Van Tran, she has also worked as a model for various publications and promotions, featuring in the July 2013 issue of Petite Alternative magazine, as a centerfold model in Tattoo Envy in March 2014, and gracing the cover
