Zulay Henao — Biography

Colombian-born Zulay Henao is a familiar face in both film and television, now proudly holding American citizenship. Her acting career boasts a diverse range of film roles, including appearances in Illegal Tender, Fighting, Takers, Boy Wonder, Hostel: Part III, The Single Moms Club, and True Memoirs of an International Assassin. A significant turning point in her television career arrived in 2014 when she secured a leading role in the Oprah Winfrey Network series, If Loving You Is Wrong.

Henao's journey began in Medellín, Colombia, before her family made the move to New Jersey. Before delving into acting, she dedicated three years, from 1997 to 2000, to service in the U.S. Army. Following her military service, Henao pursued her passion for performance by studying acting at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.

In her personal life, Henao has been in a relationship with fellow actor and director Kevin Connolly since 2019. The couple welcomed their daughter, Kennedy Cruz, into the world in early June 2021. As of August 2025, Henao maintains an active presence on social media, with a following of 304,000 on Instagram.
