Alessia Russo — Biography

Born on February 8, 1999, Alessia Russo is an English professional footballer who operates as a forward. She currently plays for Arsenal in the Women's Super League and represents the England national team. Russo holds the distinction of being the reigning FWA Women's Footballer of the Year for the 2024-25 season.

Her football journey includes stints with Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Manchester United. Prior to her professional career, she played college soccer for the North Carolina Tar Heels. During her time at Manchester United, Russo garnered individual accolades such as Player of the Year and Goal of the Season, and was twice the team's leading scorer. For her performances with Arsenal in the WSL, she has also received Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards.

Internationally, Russo has featured for England across various youth age groups, from Under-15 to Under-21, even captaining the Under-16 squad.
