Born in Tampico, Mexico, Alicja is the daughter of Lidia and Tadeusz Bachleda-Curuś, a geologist working abroad at the time of her birth. She has a brother, Tadeusz Bachleda-Curuś, and a half-sister, Urszula Welenc. Her uncle, Adam Bachleda-Curuś, previously served as the mayor of Zakopane, Poland, the city where she spent her formative years. During her upbringing in Poland, Alicja received training at Elżbieta Armatys's Theater, Music and Dance Studio, which included specialized study in Spanish and English.
