Arielle Dombasle — Biography

Arielle Dombasle, born on April 27, 1953, is an artist of American origin who has made a significant mark in France as a singer, actress, director, and model. She garnered attention for her notable performances in Éric Rohmer's 1983 film, Pauline at the Beach, and in Alain Robbe-Grillet's 1995 work, The Blue Villa. Throughout her career, Dombasle has collaborated with an array of acclaimed directors, such as Werner Schroeter in the 2002 film Two, Philippe de Broca on Amazon from 2000, Roman Polanski's Tess in 1979, Jean-Pierre Mocky in Crédit pour tous in 2011, and Raoul Ruiz in Savage Souls (2001). Additionally, she featured prominently in the 1984 ABC miniseries Lace and its 1985 follow-up Lace II, as well as making a guest appearance on the series Miami Vice. Over her artistic journey, Dombasle has produced twenty-one singles and ten albums while also taking the helm as director for four films.
