Danuta Lato — Biography
Danuta is a European adult model and pop artist who gained prominence during the 1980s and 1990s, occupying a similar niche as other provocatively marketed singers of that era such as Sabrina Salerno and Samantha Fox, though with considerably less international recognition. Her early life was spent in a small rural Polish community where she worked as an instructor at a playschool. At age twenty, she ended her first marriage after merely seven days, an occurrence that marked the village's first-ever divorce. Seeking new opportunities, she relocated to West Germany in 1984 to pursue modeling and acting careers. She secured recurring parts in a series of Hidden Camera productions directed by Israeli filmmaker Yehuda Barkan. Her most notable film appearance came in 1990 when she played the character Lucy in the Italian production Soldier of Fortune, released alternatively as Running Hero. Throughout the late 1980s and extending into the following decade, Danuta balanced continued appearances in minor European film and television productions with an emerging music career. Her 1987 single "Touch My Heart," accompanied by a music video featuring her in progressive states of undress, achieved respectable performance on European radio and charts. She became a regular presence on Italo-disco compilation albums released across Europe, sharing bills with contemporaries like Sabrina Salerno. During this period, she also modeled for major adult publications including Penthouse, High Society, and Gent, as well as European lifestyle magazines like Jet Set, frequently appearing on their covers. Her public visibility ceased after 1994, and while she has not formally announced retirement, her only subsequent acting credit came in a single 1997 episode of the German television program Ein Fall für zwei, which translates as A Case for Two.
