Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters — Biography

Born on June 28, 1995, Demi-Leigh Tebow, originally known as Nel-Peters, hails from South Africa. Her career has spanned acting, modeling, and beauty pageantry, culminating in her triumph as Miss Universe in 2017. Prior to her global win, she had already claimed the title of Miss South Africa in 2017. This made her only the second South African woman to earn the Miss Universe crown, with Margaret Gardiner having achieved the feat in 1978.

During her tenure as Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh's personal life took a significant turn when she began a relationship with Tim Tebow, a well-known figure from professional American football, who was also playing minor league baseball for the New York Mets at the time. A notable moment in their relationship was her first American Thanksgiving celebration, which she spent with his family at their residence. As her reign as Miss Universe drew to a close in 2018, Demi-Leigh publicly acknowledged Tebow's support during her farewell remarks. The couple's journey continued with an engagement on January 9, 2019, at the Tebow family farm located in Jacksonville, Florida. Their union was formalized on January 20, 2020, in a ceremony held in Franschhoek, South Africa, situated approximately an hour from Cape Town.
