Elisha Ann Cuthbert, born on November 30, 1982, is a Canadian actress known for her roles in film and television. She gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Kim Bauer in the action-thriller series 24 on FOX, and currently plays Alex Kerkovich in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings. Born in Calgary, Alberta, she is the daughter of Patricia, a homemaker, and Kevin, an automotive design engineer, and she has two younger siblings, Jonathan and Lee-Ann. Cuthbert spent her childhood in Greenfield Park, Quebec, close to Montreal. After graduating from Centennial Regional High School in 2000, she relocated to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to pursue an acting career.
Cuthbert began her modeling career at the young age of 9, focusing on children's clothing and later becoming a foot model. Her first significant television appearance came in the children's horror series Are You Afraid of the Dark?, where she eventually became a regular cast member. She also co-hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids, a filming project in Montreal that caught the attention of Hillary Clinton, leading to an invitation to the White House. Cuthbert made her feature film debut in the family drama Dancing on the Moon in 1997 and went on to star in various Canadian family films, as well as the thriller Airspeed.
