Sobre Elizabeth Gracen

Elizabeth Gracen made her way to New York City from a small town in Arkansas, a year after her reign as Miss America 1982 took her around the globe. She utilized her scholarship winnings to pursue acting at HB Studios and photography at the New School. Eventually, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she has enjoyed a successful acting career spanning more than twenty years. Notably featured in the May 1992 issue of Playboy, dubbed "Here she is Miss America Elizabeth Ward Gracen," she became a familiar face in numerous television and film projects. Elizabeth is particularly recognized for her roles in the long-running series Highlander (1992) and its spin-off, Highlander: The Raven (1998).

Gracen's initial foray into filmmaking came with the documentary The Damn Deal (2014), which spotlighted three young female impersonators from Arkansas competing in the Miss Gay America Beauty Pageant. The film was well-received on the international film festival circuit and earned an Award of Merit from the 2014 Accolade Global Film Competition. In 2012, she launched Flapper Films, a company aimed at producing inspiring content for women of all generations to embrace their authentic selves. The company's premiere short film, The Perfection of Anna (2012), also found success across international film festivals, and it continues to cultivate projects alongside the Lineage Dance Company, a non-profit that raises funds and awareness for various charities while promoting healing through the arts.

In April 2016, Gracen debuted her first young adult fantasy novel, Shalilly, through Flapper Press, a curated small publishing house and e-commerce platform for books, poetry, blogs, art, and unique merchandise. Collaborating with her partner Kate Canada Obregon, PhD—a director of research, brand strategist, and social scientist—Flapper Press aims to feature original works from influencers and thought leaders, delving into the spheres of art, ideas, film, television, and current cultural themes.
