Ella Hunt — Biography

Ella Hunt, a multifaceted English talent, excels as both an actress and a singer. Her portrayal in the 2017 film Anna and the Apocalypse garnered her a nomination for a Scottish BAFTA. On the small screen, audiences recognize her as Ellie Marsden in the ITV comedy-drama Cold Feet, a role she held from 2016 to 2017, and as Sue Gilbert in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson, which aired from 2019 to 2021.

Hunt's acting journey commenced in her youth, with early appearances in the 2011 film Intruders, the 2012 adaptation of Les Misérables, and the 2014 independent production Robot Overlords. She made her official television debut at the age of eighteen in 2016, stepping into the role of Ellie Marsden in ITV's Cold Feet, sharing the screen with Daisy Edgar-Jones, who played her on-screen twin, Olivia.

The actress took on the lead role of Anna Shepherd in the 2018 musical horror film Anna and the Apocalypse, a performance that not only secured her a Scottish BAFTA nomination but also an ensemble award at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. Her filmography also includes the 2019 movie Summer Night and the 2020 film Kat and the Band, where she played the character Kat Malone. In 2018, Hunt was selected to portray Sue Gilbert in Dickinson, the Apple TV+ period drama that premiered in 2019.

Beyond her acting career, Hunt has ventured into music. In April 2020, she unveiled her debut single, "Magpie." This was followed by the release of another single, "Holding On," in November 2021, and her EP, Triptych, the subsequent month. Hunt's theatrical debut occurred in 2022 with her role as Alice in the production of Closer at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith, where she performed alongside Jack Farthing, Sam Troughton, and Nina Toussaint-White.

Presently, Hunt divides her time between Islington, London, and Brooklyn Heights, New York. In March 2021, she publicly shared her identity as queer and bisexual.
