Ellen Hollman — Biography
Born in Detroit, Michigan, and later settling in Troy, Michigan, Ellen Hollman is an American performer. She is the eldest of four children. Before her acting career, Hollman excelled in athletics, achieving state record status in Michigan for the women's long jump with a distance of 17.5 feet. In 2008, she established the nonprofit organization Visual Impact Now, serving as its CEO and Founder. This initiative has seen notable support from celebrity hosts such as Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, January Jones, and Robert Luketic, and has organized numerous eye clinics in Los Angeles, providing glasses to over six thousand children.
Hollman's on-screen journey began in 2005 with a guest appearance on Malcolm in the Middle. She later joined the cast of The O.C. for its fourth season, portraying a younger version of Kirsten Nichol in flashback sequences. Her cinematic debut occurred in 2006 with the film Road House 2, where she took on the role of Beau. Two feature films featuring Hollman premiered in 2008: Fling, alongside Brandon Routh, and Asylum, with Sarah Roemer. She then landed the role of Saxa, a formidable German gladiatrix, in Spartacus: Vengeance. In this series, Saxa initially posed as an antagonist to Mira (played by Katrina Law) and a romantic interest for Gannicus (portrayed by Dustin Clare), but ultimately aligned herself with Spartacus during the slave uprising. This role continued into the fourth and final season of Spartacus, which concluded in January 2013. More recently, Hollman has been seen recurring on AMC's Into The Badlands as the Regent Warrior Zypher.
