Elsa Fayer — Biography

Born on November 9, 1974, Elsa Fayer is a recognized French figure in both radio and television broadcasting. Her early foray into television occurred in 1984 at the tender age of nine, appearing on the program Vitamine, hosted by Karen Cheryl. Following this, she was featured in an advertising campaign for Kookai in 1988 and later in a Japanese television commercial for the brand Superhighway in 1992. Her academic pursuits led her to study law at Panthéon-Assas University in Paris. Subsequently, she pursued further education at EFAP (École Française des Attachés de Presse), graduating in 1997 with a master's degree in communication and media.

Fayer's professional broadcast journey began as a journalist for Téva on the program Système Téva. In 1998, she commenced her presenting career with the M6 Group, helming programs for the newly launched channel Fun TV. She then made an appearance on TF1 in the show Y'a pas photo, before going on to host Toutes les télés du monde and Tubissimo on M6. In 2003, she joined Nouvelle Star, known as À la Recherche de la Nouvelle Star during its inaugural season, where her role was to support contestants backstage during the live broadcasts. Beyond national television networks, Fayer dedicated two years to presenting Tous fans de série on Série Club, as well as Jury de Stars and the poker tournament Poker Dome on NT1. She also hosted L'avenir en direct, a psychic reading program on RTL9, alongside astrologer Isabelle Viant. Joining France Télévisions, she became a regular panelist on the program On a tout essayé, hosted by Laurent Ruquier on France 2, from 2002 to 2007. Her broadcasting responsibilities extended to live commentary from Istanbul for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 on France 3, and she also covered the Junior contest that same year on the same channel. During the summer of 2004, she hosted the program Tout peut arriver on France 2. In February 2005, she co-hosted with Laurent Ruquier on France 3, in prime time, the two programs that determined the French entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. Returning to TF1 in September 2010, she presented the reality program Qui veut épouser mon fils?, which garnered 4.5 million viewers for its debut season. March 2011 saw her present a new reality program on TF1 titled Carré ViiiP, but its broadcast was halted later that month due to low viewership. She subsequently hosted the second season of Qui veut épouser mon fils? on the same channel, which aired successfully in 2012, followed by its third season in 2014.
