Eva Pilgrim — Biography

Eva Pilgrim has risen to prominence as a news correspondent for ABC News, joining the network in 2016. Her contributions extend to prominent programs such as "ABC World News Tonight with David Muir," "Good Morning America," and "Good Morning America Weekend Edition."

Born on August 30, 1982, in Seoul, South Korea, Eva's heritage is Korean through her mother and American through her father. Her family relocated to the United States during her youth. Her formative years were marked by frequent transitions due to her parents' service in the U.S. military. After completing high school, she pursued higher education at the University of Florida, earning a bachelor's degree, and later continued her studies at the University of South Carolina.

Her professional journey began at WIS-TV in Columbia, where she served as a web producer for two years. Seeking new challenges, she then moved to Bluefield to join WVVA as a reporter and morning anchor. After an additional two years there, Eva transitioned to Fox Charlotte. During her three years at Fox Charlotte, she covered significant stories, including taxi drivers' refusal to transport wheelchair-bound individuals and a woman convicted of defrauding military officers nationwide. Her journalistic acumen further developed at WXIN TV in Indianapolis.

Eva's growing reputation and advancing career led her to WPVI, an ABC affiliate in Philadelphia, in December 2012. Her dedicated work caught the attention of ABC News executives, resulting in an offer to join the main network. In December 2015, she officially became an ABC Network news correspondent, based in the New York City area.

Since then, Eva has reported on impactful events like the Northern California wildfires and the Charlottesville protests, solidifying her public profile. She has also been a familiar face on ABC news shows, including "Good Morning America" (2016-2018), "ABC News Nightline" (2018), and "Good Morning America Weekend Edition" (2016-2018). Following Paula Faris's departure, Eva was named a co-host of "Good Morning America."
