Gina Bellman — Biography

Born on July 10, 1966, Gina Bellman, a talent originating from Auckland, New Zealand, has established herself as a recognizable face in British acting. Her parents, who came to New Zealand from England in the 1950s, were of Russian and Polish Jewish heritage. The family relocated back to the United Kingdom when Gina was eleven, and she completed her schooling at Rosh Pinah Primary School and JFS in London. Bellman’s professional journey began with a television appearance in an episode of Into the Labyrinth in 1982, followed by a brief role in Grange Hill in 1984. Her significant breakthrough arrived with her starring role in Dennis Potter's dramatic production, Blackeyes. Audiences also know her for her portrayal of Jane in the popular comedy series Coupling. Beyond these prominent parts, Bellman has contributed to a variety of other television projects, including Waking the Dead, Jonathan Creek, Little Napoleons, and guest spots on Only Fools and Horses and Hotel Babylon. Her work as the con artist Sophie Devereaux in the 2008 TNT series Leverage further cemented her presence on screen.
