Janine Turner — Biography

Janine Turner, whose birth name is Janine Loraine Gauntt, is an American performer celebrated for her memorable portrayals. Audiences widely recognize her as Maggie O'Connell in the acclaimed television series Northern Exposure. She also made a significant impact as Jessie Deighan in the action film Cliffhanger and as Katie McCoy in the popular show Friday Night Lights. Beyond her acting career, Turner is also a published author, a sought-after public speaker, and the founder and co-chair of Constituting America 2010, an organization dedicated to civic engagement. Her talent has been formally recognized with three consecutive Golden Globe Awards, earned from 1992 to 1994, and an Emmy Award nomination in 1993.
