Alicia Christian "Jodie" Foster, born on November 19, 1962, is a renowned American actress and filmmaker. Throughout her career, she has garnered numerous prestigious awards, including two Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In addition to her acting accolades, she has received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her work as a producer and director. Among her many honors, she was presented with the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2013, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016, and was awarded the Honorary Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021.
Foster's journey in the entertainment industry started at a young age when she worked as a child model and later became a teen star in several Disney films, including Napoleon and Samantha (1972), Freaky Friday (1976), and Candleshoe (1977). She appeared in Martin Scorsese's comedy-drama Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) and later teamed up again with him for Taxi Driver (1976), a performance that earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
