Jorja Smith — Biography
Jorja Alice Smith, born on June 11, 1997, is a vocalist hailing from England. Her upbringing in Walsall, West Midlands, coincided with a passion for songwriting that began when she was just eleven years old. A pivotal moment arrived in 2012 when a friend shared one of her vocal performances online via YouTube, a move that brought her to the attention of music producer Guy Moot. Following the growing acclaim for her initial two single releases, Smith entered into a record deal with Sony/ATV in 2016, subsequently issuing two extended plays over the course of 2016 and 2017. Her first full-length album, Lost & Found, arrived in 2018, garnering widespread positive reviews and reaching the third position on the UK Albums Chart. That same year, she was honored with the Brit Critics' Choice Award. The following year, in 2019, Smith was recognized as the Best British Female Artist at the Brit Awards and also earned a nomination for the prestigious Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
