June Wilkinson — Biography

June Wilkinson entered the world on March 27, 1940, in Eastbourne and became a prominent British adult model and actress during the 1960s, establishing herself through regular features in Playboy magazine and film work. During the late 1950s and into the early 1960s, she rose to become one of the most frequently photographed women globally, earning the distinction of being labeled "the most photographed nude in America" at her career's peak. The year 1960 proved particularly significant for her Playboy presence, with the magazine publishing her five times across the months of June, July, August, October, and November, with her November appearance bearing the title "The Bosom Revisits Playboy". That same year, she participated in the voodoo-themed film Macumba Love, which advertised her physical dimensions as 44-20-36. Though her measurements were sometimes reported at 45-22-35, she clarified in 1963 that her actual measurements were 40-22-35. Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy, bestowed upon her the moniker "the bosom," a nickname that reflected the focus of her visual presentation. The majority of her pictorials emphasized a particular style featuring her emerging from clothing. Beyond modeling work, her professional pursuits extended to theatrical performance in the stage production Pajama Tops and an extended performance run with Spike Jones and His City Slickers. She also made a brief appearance in Russ Meyer's pioneering film The Immoral Mr. Teas, playing an anonymous bare-breasted figure visible through a window. Like numerous glamour models of her era, she transitioned into lower-budget films throughout the latter part of the 1960s and throughout the 1970s.
