Kristanna Loken — Biography
Kristanna Sommer Løken, born on October 8, 1979, is an American actress and model recognized for her contributions to both television and film. Hailing from Ghent, New York, she is the daughter of Rande (née Porath), who worked as a model, and Merlin "Chris" Loken, a writer and apple farmer. Her ancestry traces back to Norway, as all four of her grandparents emigrated from the country to join the Norwegian American community in Wisconsin. Growing up on her family’s fruit farm in Upstate New York, she has a sister named Tanya.
Loken began her foray into acting in 1994 with her role as "Danielle 'Dani' Andropoulos #3" on an episode of As the World Turns. She subsequently made appearances in various television series and films, securing regular roles in shows such as Philly, Unhappily Ever After, Mortal Kombat: Conquest, and Boy Meets World. Her portrayal of the cyborg T-X (Terminatrix) in the 2003 film Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is among her most notable performances.
In 2004, she took part in a German television movie titled Die Nibelungen, also known as "Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King" or "Sword of Xanten," which was aired as a two-part mini-series and achieved high ratings. Loken later starred in the 2006 film adaptation of the video game BloodRayne and participated in Uwe Boll's film adaptation of Dungeon Siege, entitled In the Name of the King. She made her mark on The L Word by appearing in ten episodes during its fourth season, which premiered in January 2007. Additionally, she starred in the SciFi Channel series Painkiller Jane, which aired from April to September of the same year.
In an interview with Curve magazine, Loken opened up about her experiences with relationships, stating, "I have dated and have had sex with men and women, and have to say that the relationships I have had with certain women have been much more fulfilling, sexually and emotionally, than those with certain men... I connect with an aura, with energy. And if the person with whom I connect happens to be a female, that's just the way it is. That's what makes my wheels turn." She sparked public speculation regarding her sexuality when she kissed singer Pink at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. In November 2006, The Advocate and other LGBT news outlets hinted at a possible romance between Loken and her BloodRayne co-star, actress Michelle Rodriguez. When asked about this in April 2007, Loken remarked, "We're great friends. She'll always remain a great, close friend of mine. I'll always love Michelle."
On January 17, 2008, Loken announced her engagement to actor Noah Danby, her co-star in Painkiller Jane, via her website. The couple wed on May
