Manushi Chhillar — Biography

Manushi Chhillar is a captivating Indian talent, known for her achievements as an actress and model, most notably her crowning as Miss World in 2017. Her journey in the world of pageantry began when she represented Haryana at the Femina Miss India 2017 competition, securing the title of Femina Miss India World 2017. This victory paved the way for her to become the sixth Indian woman to achieve the prestigious Miss World crown, breaking a 17-year gap for India's representation on the global stage.

Transitioning to the silver screen, Chhillar made her acting debut in the historical drama Samrat Prithviraj in 2022, portraying the character of Sanyogita. Her subsequent filmography includes appearances in The Great Indian Family in 2023 and the science fiction action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan released in 2024.

Beyond her on-screen presence, Chhillar possesses a remarkable linguistic ability, being fluent in Hindi and English in addition to her native Haryanvi. Her artistic talents extend to dance, as she is a trained Kuchipudi dancer, having honed her skills under the tutelage of renowned dancers Raja and Radha Reddy.

Chhillar's foray into the realm of beauty pageants started with the Fashion Big Bazaar sponsored Campus Princess 2016, where she emerged as a finalist in December 2016. This event was organized by the Miss India Organization. Following this, she was crowned Femina Miss India Haryana in April 2017. Subsequently, she proudly represented the state of Haryana in the national Femina Miss India contest, where she also earned the Miss Photogenic title.

At the Miss World 2017 pageant, Chhillar represented India with distinction. She advanced as a finalist in the Top Model, People's Choice, and Multimedia categories. Her adeptness shone through as she won the Head-to-Head Challenge from Group Nine and shared the victory in the Beauty with a Purpose competition. This marked a significant achievement as she became India's fourth winner of the Beauty with a Purpose award at Miss World and the first woman to jointly win both Miss World and Beauty with a Purpose. Chhillar's impactful Beauty with a Purpose initiative, Project Shakti, focused on raising awareness about menstrual hygiene. In pursuit of this cause, she visited approximately 20 villages, reaching out to and impacting the lives of over 5,000 women.
