Maria Yuryevna Kirilenko, born on January 25, 1987, is a prominent figure in professional tennis from Russia. Her professional journey on the WTA Tour saw her clinch her inaugural title in 2005 at the China Open, where she bested Anna-Lena Grönefeld. The pinnacle of her singles career ranking on the WTA Tour arrived in May 2012, when she attained the no. 16 position. Prior to her professional triumphs, Kirilenko showcased her talent by winning the junior championship at the 2002 Canadian Open, and she also secured the junior title at the 2002 US Open. Her Grand Slam singles achievements include reaching the quarterfinals at two major tournaments: the 2010 Australian Open and the 2012 Wimbledon Championships.
