Maritza Sayalero — Biography

Maritza Sayalero Fernández, born in Caracas on February 16, 1961, is a prominent Venezuelan figure known for her multifaceted career as a designer, model, businesswoman, and beauty pageant titleholder. Her landmark achievement came in 1979 when she was crowned Miss Venezuela, an honor that paved the way for her to win the Miss Universe crown the same year. This victory marked a historic moment, as she became the very first Venezuelan to achieve the prestigious Miss Universe title. Sayalero has been married to Raúl Ramírez, a retired tennis player, since 1981. Together, they have resided in Mexico for many years.
