Mary Lynn Rajskub — Biography

Hailing from Trenton, Michigan, where her family moved from Detroit when she was young, Mary Lynn Rajskub has carved out a notable career in acting and comedy. She is widely recognized for her portrayal of the brilliant and anxious Chloe O’Brian in the television series 24, and for her memorable turn as Gail the Snail in It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Rajskub's filmography includes appearances in projects such as Dude, Where is My Car?, Sweet Home Alabama, Punch-Drunk Love, Mysterious Skin, Little Miss Sunshine, Sunshine Cleaning, Safety Not Guaranteed, and The Kings of Summer, to name a few.

Growing up, Rajskub was influenced by the television show Moonlighting. Her parents are Betty and Tony Rajskub, and she is the youngest of three children, with two older sisters. In high school, she demonstrated her musical talent as a clarinettist in the band and took on the role of Frenchie in a production of Grease.

Seeking opportunities, Rajskub eventually made her way to Los Angeles. There, she supported herself by working as a server at a Hard Rock Cafe and as a ticket taker at the Beverly Center movie theater. Her earliest theatrical experience came through community theater, first as an Oompa-Loompa in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and later in a leading role as Raggedy Ann in another production of the same story. In 1996, she appeared in music videos for Weezer's "The Good Life" and Beck's "The New Pollution." Her professional acting career took a significant step with her regular role as booking assistant Mary Lou Collins on HBO's The Larry Sanders Show, which ran from 1996 to 1998.

Rajskub's personal life includes a relationship with personal trainer Matthew Rolph, whom she met after he approached her following a comedy performance. Their relationship progressed quickly, and she became pregnant shortly thereafter. Their son was born in 2008. The couple married in a spontaneous ceremony in Las Vegas on August 1, 2009. Rajskub initiated divorce proceedings in August 2019.
