Michelle Hunziker — Biography

Michelle Hunziker was born in the picturesque town of Sorengo, located in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Her mother, Ineke, hails from the Netherlands, while her late father, Rudolf, was a German-speaking Swiss who passed away from a heart attack in 2001. Although he was an artist by training, he made a living as a hotel manager. In 1983, the family relocated to Ostermundigen, a suburb near Bern, where Hunziker completed her elementary education.

After moving to Milan with her mother, she pursued a career in fashion modeling and caught the attention of the esteemed agent Riccardo Gay. Despite being deemed too heavy and short by some, at the age of 17, Hunziker successfully worked with prestigious brands including Armani, Rocco Barocco, La Perla, Colmar, Fuerte Ventura, Lovable, and Swish. In 1996, she crossed paths with the Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti, and on December 5 of the same year, they welcomed their daughter, Aurora Ramazzotti. The couple tied the knot on April 24, 1998, but began living separately by 2002 and finalized their divorce on March 25, 2009. At 46, Hunziker became a grandmother with the birth of Aurora's son, Cesare.

In 2013, she shared her engagement to Tomaso Trussardi, the heir to the Trussardi fashion empire. The following autumn, they welcomed their first daughter together, and in 2014, the couple married. Their second daughter arrived in 2015. In mid-January 2022, Hunziker and Trussardi announced their separation, stating their commitment to raising their two daughters "in love." This decision after a decade was attributed to a desire to alter "their joint life project." By March 2024, Hunziker has gathered a substantial following, boasting 5.7 million followers on Instagram, 1.6 million on TikTok, and 163,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.
