Mickie James — Biography

Mickie Laree James is an American professional wrestler and previous adult model who operates under the shortened name Mickie James. Since November 2023, she maintains a contract with Impact Wrestling, where she has captured the TNA Women's Knockout Championship on two occasions. Her wrestling journey began in 1999 as a valet performing on independent wrestling promotions under the ring name Alexis Laree. Following training at multiple wrestling facilities, she joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in June 2002 and rapidly achieved widespread recognition. Within a short time, she became affiliated with a group called The Gathering and participated in connected storylines. She holds the distinction of being the sole female competitor to participate in Clockwork Orange House of Fun matches. In October 2005, James entered World Wrestling Entertainment and became involved in an angle opposite Trish Stratus, portraying an admirer who becomes a disturbing stalker, a narrative arc that extended nearly a year. Following this storyline, she earned a major push and won the WWE Women's Championship for the first time at WrestleMania 22, eventually holding that title five times throughout her tenure. James also earned her first Divas Championship victory at Night of Champions in 2009, positioning herself as the second Diva to possess both championships. The company ended her contract on April 22, 2010, after which she rejoined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and its successor, Impact Wrestling. She has Caucasian and Native American heritage. By December 2023, she had accumulated 1.1 million Instagram followers.
