Nina Roberts — Biography
Nina Roberts, known to the public as a French performer in adult cinema, also explores her creativity as an author and a contemporary artist, working with both video and photography. Her formative years were spent in Créteil, a locale adjacent to Paris. At the young age of twenty, she found herself a single mother and, seeking to supplement her income, responded to an advertisement for an adult film role. Following some initial amateur projects, she transitioned into full-time adult entertainment. She adopted the professional moniker Nina Roberts, a choice inspired by a subtle physical resemblance to the Hollywood actress Julia Roberts. In 2003, her work included Pretty Nina, a pornographic reimagining of the film Pretty Woman. By the early 2000s, Nina Roberts had risen to prominence as one of France's most recognized adult film stars. After two years dedicated to making adult films, she paused her on-screen career to document her experiences within the adult industry. Her personal narrative, titled J'assume (I take responsibility), was released in 2004 by éditions Scali, with Virginie Despentes penning the introduction. In 2007, Roberts presented Grosse Vache (published by Scali), a novel structured as a diary, depicting a young woman's struggles with bulimia, anorexia, drug use, specifically cocaine and speed, and her journey toward finding love. She collaborated with Evan Manifatori on a cinematic adaptation of Grosse Vache. Roberts eventually returned to adult filmmaking after her break, though her on-screen presence diminished in the latter half of the 2000s. Her contribution to Casino No Limit earned her the Ninfa Award for Best Actress at the 2008 Barcelona International Erotic Film Festival. By the early 2010s, Roberts had permanently concluded her career as a pornographic actress. She then explored her passion for music, playing bass in a punk rock band, and embarked on a new path as a photographer. To sustain herself financially, she continued her involvement in the French adult industry from behind the scenes, serving as a casting assistant and press attaché for Marc Dorcel. Additionally, she appeared in several non-pornographic films. Later, she pursued higher education, obtaining a degree in sports and dietetics, and became a certified professional coach.
