Olivia Munn — Biography

Actress Lisa Olivia Munn brings together a diverse cultural heritage with German, Irish, English, Chinese, and Vietnamese ancestry flowing through her family lineage. She launched her professional television career following an internship at a Tulsa news outlet, eventually relocating to Los Angeles where she gained prominence as a host for the gaming channel G4. Between 2006 and 2010, she became a recognizable face on the network's flagship program Attack of the Show! Her television portfolio expanded when she served as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart during 2010 and 2011. Munn garnered significant recognition for her three-season stint portraying Sloan Sabbith in Aaron Sorkin's politically focused HBO drama series The Newsroom, which ran from 2012 through 2014. Her film and television work spans diverse genres, including supporting performances in the comedy features Big Stan and Date Night, along with Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike. She took on lead roles in the supernatural thriller Deliver Us from Evil and appeared in the comedy adventure Mortdecai. In the blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse, she embodied the character Psylocke. In 2024, Munn publicly disclosed a breast cancer diagnosis from the previous year, revealing she underwent four surgical procedures including a double mastectomy. An accomplished martial artist, she holds a black belt in taekwondo. Her romantic history includes a relationship with NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers from 2014 to 2017.
