Raja Meissner — Biography

Raja Meissner, a musician hailing from Germany, carved out a significant presence in the digital sphere starting in 2019. Her rise to prominence was fueled by her drum covers, which she began sharing on social media. She strategically focused on short-form renditions, approximately a minute in length, for platforms like Instagram, diverging from the longer-form content typically found on sites such as YouTube.

Before embracing the drums, Meissner honed her musical skills on the oboe until the age of 14. It was then that she transitioned to percussion. Her inaugural drum piece was a rendition of Nirvana's iconic track, "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Her musical journey also included a stint as the drummer for the band Santa Jaws, and she took part in the Psychovillage tour, performing across Germany and Austria. One of her most celebrated online contributions is a cover of a live Slipknot performance, which has captivated an audience of over 2 million viewers.

Interestingly, her brother served as the catalyst for her drumming endeavors, as he initially expressed a desire to learn the instrument. Born in Frankfurt, Meissner now calls Berlin her home. She frequently cites Joey Jordison and Meytal Cohen as her primary musical influences.
