Rebecca Ferguson — Biography
Rebecca Louisa Ferguson Sundström is a talented Swedish actress. She started her journey in acting with the Swedish soap opera Nya tider and later appeared in the slasher film Drowning Ghost. In addition to her Swedish roots, Ferguson has Irish and Scottish ancestry. She gained widespread recognition for her performance as Elizabeth Woodville in the 2013 miniseries The White Queen, a role that earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe. Additionally, she is well-known for portraying Ilsa Faust in the action film Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, released in 2015.
Ferguson was raised in the Vasastan neighborhood of central Stockholm. By the age of 13, she began modeling for various magazines and appeared in television commercials for makeup, clothing, and jewelry. She graduated from Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm in 1999. Following her success in the soap opera and after having her son, she relocated with her boyfriend to Simrishamn, situated on Sweden’s southern coast. There, she operated an Argentine dance studio and engaged in multiple short art film projects. The couple ended their relationship in April 2015.
Since 2016, Ferguson has been in a partnership with businessman Rory St. Clair Gainer, with whom she welcomed a daughter in May 2018. The couple tied the knot in December 2018. They reside in Richmond, located in southwest London, which is conveniently close to Pinewood and Shepperton studios.
