Sarah Whittle — Biography

Sarah E. Whittle, born on February 7, 1989, previously held the position of Director of Unscripted Content for Smosh. Her journey with the company began as an Assistant to a Producer, and she steadily advanced, taking on producing and directing roles for numerous shows on Smosh's secondary channel, which is now known as Smosh Pit. Her progression led to a place on Senior Staff, where she oversaw content direction for both Smosh Pit and Smosh Games. Later in her tenure, she directed sketches for the main Smosh channel, including "EVERY PANDA EXPRESS EVER," "EVERY DUNKIN' DONUTS EVER," and "FIRST HOOKUP AFTER QUARANTINE." Sarah was also the creative force and host behind Spelling Bee-Kini Wax. She was a familiar face in videos for Smosh Games and Smosh Pit, making a guest appearance on The Show w/ No Name! in the episode "PUTTING KIMCHI IN OUR MOUTHS! (The Show w/ No Name)." Notably, she served as a referee for two of the Defy-era Smosh Seasonal Games: Smosh Winter Games 2017: Again! and Smosh Summer Games 2018: We Blew It. In November 2018, it was announced that Sarah was taking a temporary leave from Smosh to pursue other opportunities, though she continued to appear in videos. By February 2019, she confirmed her return to Smosh via Instagram, resuming her work as a producer and social media manager. Since her comeback, her video appearances became more frequent, including her involvement in Gaming With A Twist and several SmoshCast episodes. She also reprised her referee role for Smosh Summer Games 2019: Apocalypse. Concurrently, she managed Smosh's Facebook presence, significantly contributing to the brand's rapid expansion on that platform. On May 3, 2021, it was officially confirmed on SmoshCast that Sarah was departing from Smosh. Following her exit, Sarah has returned as a guest on multiple occasions across various formats, most notably in Smosh: Under The Mistletoe.

Sarah was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her mother is Korean, and her father served in the United States Air Force (USAF), which meant the family relocated frequently during her childhood. By the age of seven, she had already lived in Wyoming, North Dakota, South Korea, and Germany. From ages six to twelve, she attended Bitburg Middle School in Germany, where she hosted her own program on the school's television channel. In 2001, she returned to Wyoming, attending Cheyenne East High School and Laramie County Community College.
