Tia Blanco — Biography

Tiarah Lue Blanco, born May 5, 1997, is a professional surfer hailing from San Clemente, California. Her impressive competitive record includes two consecutive gold medals at the International Surfing Association (ISA) Open Women's World Surfing Championship, first in 2015 and again in 2016.

Blanco entered the world on May 5, 1997, in Puerto Rico. Her heritage is a blend, with her mother bringing Filipino roots and her father contributing Italian, Irish, and French ancestry. She has a sister named Aja, and the two were raised in the Christian faith. The family's lifestyle was shaped by her father's service as a lieutenant commander in the Coast Guard, leading them to live in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and eventually San Clemente, California.

Her passion for surfing ignited at a young age, with her father serving as her initial instructor. By the age of 13, Blanco was already making waves in competitive surfing. In 2014, she achieved victories in both the Under 18 National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) Southwest Women's and Surfing Prime America Women's events. Representing the USA Surfing Team, she secured third place overall in the 2014 World Juniors competition. At 18, Blanco claimed the top spot at the 2015 World Surf League Ron Jon Vans Junior Pro. Her dominance continued as she earned gold at the 2015 ISA Open Women's World Surfing Championship in Popoyo, Nicaragua, and successfully defended her title in 2016 in Playa Jacó, Costa Rica.

Beyond the waves, Blanco ventured into television, appearing on MTV's The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros in 2017, where she raised $1,000 for St. Jude’s Children Hospital. In 2021, she emerged victorious on ABC's The Ultimate Surfer, earning a coveted spot on the World Surf League Championship Tour. She has attracted endorsements from prominent brands such as Reef, Sony, TCL, and J7 Surfboards. In 2017, Blanco collaborated with VeganSmart to introduce her own protein supplement, "Peaches and Cream" by Tia Blanco. A further expansion into apparel came in 2022 with the launch of JOLYN x Tiarah, a partnership that also saw her named the JOLYN Surf ambassador. Most recently, in 2024, she announced new collaborations with the Hawaiian apparel line Local Motion, sports eyewear brand Dragon Eyewear, and perfume line Clean Beauty Collective.

Blanco's personal life has also seen significant developments. She began dating Brody Jenner in 2022 after meeting in Hawaii, and they became engaged in June 2023. Their daughter, Honey Raye
