Vera Ann Farmiga is a performer from the United States. Her professional journey in acting commenced on the stage, appearing in the original Broadway staging of Taking Sides back in 1996. Following her foray into television and cinema, Farmiga achieved a significant turning point in 2004 with her central portrayal of a character struggling with addiction in the drama Down to the Bone. She garnered acclaim for her leading role in the 2009 film Up in the Air, a project that led to an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
