Victoria Silvstedt came into the world on September 19, 1974, in the Swedish town of Höganäs before growing up in Bollnäs within a household of five. She occupied the middle position among her siblings, with an older sister named Veronica and a younger brother named Daniel. The Swedish entertainer later married news broadcaster Chris Wragge, though they ended their marriage in 2009.

Silvstedt's path to fame began with competitive alpine skiing, influenced by her father's role as a ski team captain. She started skiing at age five and achieved a fourth-place finish at the Swedish national youth championship in 1989, competing in giant slalom alongside eventual champion Pernilla Wiberg. A shoulder injury sustained during competition at age sixteen forced her to retire from the sport.

Her entertainment career commenced when her mother and sister submitted photographs to Miss Sweden pageant organizers. She became Miss World Sweden in 1993 and advanced to the top ten at the international Miss World pageant held in Sun City, South Africa. Following this success, a Parisian modeling agency signed her to represent major fashion brands including Chanel, Dior, Armani, Givenchy, and Valentino. Hugh Hefner subsequently invited Silvstedt to photograph for Playboy, making her the December 1996 Playmate of the Month and 1997 Playmate of the Year. In the late 1990s, she secured one of the world's most prestigious modeling contracts as the face of Guess, following predecessors Claudia Schiffer and Anna Nicole Smith. She has graced over five hundred magazine covers, appearing in publications like Maxim, GQ, and Glamour.

Silvstedt's acting career includes television appearances on shows such as Melrose Place and film roles in comedies including BASEketball and Boat Trip, alongside European productions, particularly Italian cinema. She hosted numerous television programs globally, including Candid Camera and Eurotrash, and presented Wheel of Fortune versions in France and Italy from 2006 to 2009. Her reality series Victoria Silvstedt: My Perfect Life premiered on E! in 2008.

Musically, Silvstedt released the dance album Girl on the Run in 1999, which achieved gold status in Sweden. She participated in the 2025 Melodifestivalen competition.
