Vikki Dougan — Biography

Vikki Dougan, originally named Edith Tooker, was born on January 1, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised by her mother, a librarian, after her father, an insurance salesman, left when she was just six months old. Dougan started her modeling career at the youthful age of eleven and enjoyed considerable success in the field prior to making her film debut in 1956's Back from Eternity, where she appeared as an uncredited showgirl. Over her career, she secured minor roles in an additional nine films. Dougan also achieved recognition through various beauty pageants, winning titles such as Miss Coney Island and the eighth annual New York Skate Queen contest. As a teenager, she adopted the stage name Vikki, inspired by actress Vicki Lester, and took on her surname Dougan, derived from her mother’s last name.
