Yuko Ogura — Biography
Yuko Ogura, a prominent figure in Japan's entertainment scene, has carved a niche for herself as a singer, gravure idol, and model. Before her marriage in 2011, her public persona often embraced a youthful, innocent schoolgirl aesthetic. She is currently affiliated with Platinum Production.
Born in Mobara, Chiba, Ogura playfully maintains, though not with complete seriousness, an alter ego as "Princess Apple-Momoka" (りんごももか姫), hailing from the apple-shaped planet Korin. This humorous persona originated as an inside joke during her middle school years, when having a secondary name was a passing trend. A friend once remarked on her resemblance to someone named Momoka, a name Ogura grew fond of and continues to use.
Internationally, Ogura gained recognition for her song "Onna no Ko ♡ Otoko no Ko" (オンナのコ♡オトコのコ), which translates to "Girls ♡ Boys" and served as the ending theme for the popular anime series School Rumble. Her modeling career has also achieved international acclaim. In 2010, the Thai edition of FHM magazine recognized her among the "7 most irresistibly cute Japanese idols."
In her personal life, Ogura married hair and makeup artist Isao Kikuchi on October 10, 2011, in Oahu, Hawaii. However, this union concluded with their divorce announcement in March 2017. Ogura remarried in December 2018, but later announced her second divorce on July 27, 2022.
