Andrea Canning — Biography
Hailing from Canada, Andrea Canning established herself as a prominent journalist and author. Her academic journey led her to the University of Western Ontario, where she earned a psychology degree in 1994. Further honing her skills, she pursued studies in radio and television arts at Ryerson Polytechnic University. Her career in broadcast journalism reached a significant milestone when she joined Dateline NBC as a correspondent in 2012. Her work extends across various NBC News properties, including Today, NBC Nightly News, and MSNBC. She also takes on anchoring duties, filling in on both Today and Weekend Today. Beyond her reporting, Canning has a creative outlet as a screenwriter for Hallmark Channel and Lifetime movies. Since 2008, she has been married to Lt. Col Tony Bancroft, a USMCR officer and F/A-18 instructor pilot. Together, they are parents to six children: five daughters and one son.
