Aneet Padda — Biography
Aneet Padda is an Indian actress known for her work in Hindi cinema. She initiated her acting journey with a minor role in the film Salaam Venky (2022) and secured her first leading part in the Amazon Prime Video series Big Girls Don't Cry (2024). Padda gained prominence with her performance in Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara (2025), which elevated her status in the industry. Her film debut was in Salaam Venky, a poignant drama focusing on euthanasia, where she portrayed the romantic interest of Vishal Jethwa’s character. The Hindu critic Shilpa Nair noted her performance as "noteworthy."
In 2024, Padda stepped into the spotlight with her leading role in Nitya Mehra's Amazon Prime Video series Big Girls Don't Cry, a coming-of-age story centered around a group of friends navigating life at a boarding school. She portrayed Roohi, one of the friends grappling with her parents' troubled relationship. Padda also showcased her musical talent by writing, composing, and performing an original song for the series, called "Masoom." Even though the series met with mixed reviews, critics acknowledged the strong performances of the cast.
The following year, she appeared alongside Dalai Mulchandani in Mehra's segment of the anthology series Yuva Sapno Ka Safar, released digitally on Waves. Padda's major breakthrough came with Saiyaara, in which she starred opposite newcomer Ahaan Panday. Produced by Yash Raj Films, she played Vaani, an aspiring lyricist facing early-onset dementia, who develops a romantic relationship with an up-and-coming singer portrayed by Panday. Despite The Hollywood Reporter’s Rahul Desai expressing dissatisfaction with the film's script, he praised Padda for infusing depth into her character and highlighted the chemistry between her and Panday. Upon its release, Saiyaara shattered several box-office records, grossing over ₹6 billion (US$71 million) and becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
