Angelique Pettyjohn — Biography
Angelique Pettyjohn, born Dorothy Lee Perrins on March 11, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, was an American actress recognized for her work in B movies and as a burlesque performer. Her most notable role came as Shahna, the drill thrall, in the Star Trek episode titled "The Gamesters of Triskelion." Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Pettyjohn began her film career in 1967 under the stage name Angelique, with notable appearances in films such as The Touch of Her Flesh and The Love Rebellion. Her significant breakthrough occurred the same year when she was cast in the Elvis Presley film Clambake.
Pettyjohn also acted as one of the go-go dancers in the opening scene of the 1968 comedy The Odd Couple, featuring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. She auditioned for the role of Nova in the 1968 adaptation of Planet of the Apes, although the part ultimately went to Linda Harrison. In 1969, she co-starred in the science fiction sex comedy The Curious Female, featuring several nude scenes, and supported Glenn Ford in the Western Heaven with a Gun. Other films in her career include the biker movie Hell's Belles (1970) and a role as a topless dancer in the 1971 low-budget crime drama The G.I. Executioner.

She also played the drag character Charlie Watkins in the Get Smart episodes "Smart Fit the Battle of Jericho" and "Pussycat Galore" in 1967. In the 1970s, Pettyjohn transitioned to the burlesque scene in Las Vegas, featuring in shows like Barry Ashton’s Burlesque Show at the Silver Slipper Gambling Hall and the Vive Paris Vive production at the Aladdin Hotel. She was also featured in the Maxim Hotel & Casino Burlesque Show and collaborated with Bob Mitchell and Miss Nude Universe for "True Olde Tyme Burlesque" at the Joker Club in 1978.
