Anita Ekberg — Biography
Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg, born on September 29, 1931, and passing away on January 11, 2015, was a Swedish film performer who built a career across American and European cinema. Her striking appearance and voluptuous physique became her defining characteristics in the entertainment industry. She achieved widespread recognition through her memorable portrayal of Sylvia in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, released in 1960. Based primarily in Italy for much of her career, Ekberg officially settled there as a permanent resident beginning in 1964. A notable incident occurred in 1960 when paparazzi pursued her from a nightclub back to her home. During the confrontation, she was captured on camera delivering a knee strike to one photographer and subsequently brandishing a bow and arrow to deter the others.
