Anna Paulina Luna, born with the surname Mayerhofer and later taking the name Gamberzky, holds a seat in the United States House of Representatives representing Florida's 13th district. A Republican, she made history as the first woman of Mexican-American heritage to win election to Congress from Florida. Luna completed her undergraduate degree at the University of West Florida in 2017. Before entering electoral politics, she became involved with Turning Point USA. Her initial bid for a House seat in 2020 ended without success, but two years later she secured election with backing from Donald Trump during the primary phase. During the speakership vote in January 2023, Luna cast her support behind both Jim Jordan and Byron Donalds. Her political affiliations include membership in the House Freedom Caucus. Luna's ethnic heritage encompasses both German and Mexican roots.
