Ashlyn Martin — Biography

Ashlyn Martin's striking image graced the pages of a famous magazine, captured by the lenses of photographers Pompeo Posar and Mario Casilli. Her presence was also noted in the July 1963 edition of Playboy, featured in a pictorial titled "The Bunnies." An earlier photograph from 1960, appearing in Kathryn Leigh Scott's book "The Bunny Years" on page 56, also included Martin alongside fellow Playmate and Bunny, Patti Reynolds. In January 1966, she was part of the "Playboy Mansion Pictorial" in Playboy magazine, sharing space with Allison Parks, a feature beginning on page 105. Hugh Hefner, in his book "The Playmate Book," suggests that Martin's professional alias may have drawn inspiration from Brett Ashley, a character from Ernest Hemingway's novel "The Sun Also Rises." Prior to these appearances, she had also served as a Bunny at the Chicago Playboy Club. Tragically, Ashlyn Martin passed away on October 24, 1991, at the age of 45, due to suicide.
