Brooke Mills — Biography

Brooke Mills, a striking redhead with talent in acting, modeling, and dance, graced the screen in a limited but memorable array of film and television appearances before her career was tragically cut short. Born Dolores Ann Williams on January 17, 1949, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Mills's cinematic journey began with an uncredited role as a model in the 1968 film Live a Little, Love a Little. She delivered a particularly captivating and energetic portrayal of Harrad, a desperate heroin addict inmate, in Jack Hill's notable exploitation film, The Big Doll House, in 1971. Among her other notable performances were the troubled Grace MacDonald in the peculiar horror film Dream No Evil Blood Legacy (1971) and the free-spirited photography instructor Tracy Davis in the highly entertaining The Student Teachers (1973). Mills also lent her talents to guest spots on popular television series, including "The F.B.I." (1965), "Night Gallery" (1970), "The Mod Squad" (1968), "Mission: Impossible" (1966), "Marcus Welby, M.D." (1969), "Barbary Coast" (1975), and "Police Story" (1970). Her acting career concluded in 1977. She was a frequent subject for renowned glamour photographer Peter Gowland, with some of his images featured in the Playboy publication Eve Today. Additionally, photographer Frank Bez captured her likeness, with his work appearing in the July 1972 issue of PENTHOUSE magazine.
